Visionary voices

Cornelia grew up knowing there was a well within her —even before she had a name for it. After a powerful moment in 2016 that she now sees as the true start of her calling, she chose to go by Nelia—a nickname pulled right out of the middle of “Cornelia” to remind herself that this was her rebirth into purpose.

That experience taught her two things: first, that every woman has her own unique assignment on earth; and second, that none of us can fulfill it alone. Nelia believes our personal callings fit together like puzzle pieces, and when we support one another, we create the space for each woman’s purpose to flourish.

By training, Nelia is a lawyer—she holds both an LL.B. from Ghana and an LL.M. in Maritime and Environmental Law from Dalhousie University, Canada.

Currently she practices in Criminal Defence and Child Protection Law in Canada. She is married to her husband, John Brown.

Her greatest passion is helping  women discover who they are in God’s eyes. She writes regularly, sharing honest, scripture‑based posts, and in 2024 she released her first book, Being Phenomenal: A Handbook for Today’s Young Christian Woman.

As a speaker, Nelia draws from her own triumphs and setbacks to show her audience that doubt, disappointment, or fear don’t disqualify us—they redirect us. She reminds every listener that she’s never walking the path alone.

Out of these convictions, Nelia founded The Phenomenal Woman Network, a ministry dedicated to equipping women to chase their Godly passions, live with purpose—confident in their worth and united in community.
